Key Stage 2
Through varied and engaging activities, pupils learn about:
- the Queen as a person;
- her family life, interests and hobbies; and
- the ways in which royal imagery appears in our everyday life.
Some of the activities within these lessons may be of interest to Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 3.
Key Stage 3
Through active learning strategies, pupils have opportunities to research, discuss and debate:
- the British Monarchy and monarchies around the globe;
- the Queen’s impact here and across the world; and
- aspects of life in the 1950s.
Some of the activities within these lessons may be of interest to Key Stage 2.
SEN Key Stages 2 and 3
Through visually impactful and active learning experiences, pupils explore:
- the concept of the monarchy;
- Queen Elizabeth II and her life; and
- growing and ageing and societal changes since the 1950s.
The activities are designed for pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) in special school settings, but may also be of interest to primary and Key Stage 3 pupils in mainstream settings.
