With thousands of students waking up to their examination results, CCEA takes a moment to acknowledge the professionalism of examiners who play a key role in making the examinations system work.

CCEA Director of Education, Margaret Farragher commented:

“During the space of just 6 weeks over 5,000 examiners, moderators and markers have worked incredibly hard to ensure over half-a-million CCEA GCE and GCSE examination papers have been marked, assessed and graded to the highest standard.

This summer through our examiners’ commitment to training and improvement, we have been able to mark more than 400,000 or around 80% of our examination papers online. The benefits of this online process include greater efficiency and helping us reduce error in marking.

I would like to thank each examiner and moderator for their professionalism and work. Along with CCEA staff, the team of committed experts makes for a safe and reliable examinations system.

This is a busy time for CCEA, but we have expert staff on hand to help with results. Students and parents with questions about particular results should contact their school or college in the first instance. Teachers should speak to their Exams Officer and, if necessary, they can contact CCEA.

Our best wishes to all those learners receiving results tomorrow and next week.”
