Awarding of Essential Skills Qualifications (ESQs) during summer 2020

In line with the Minister for the Department for the Economy’s announcement on 23rd April, CCEA Regulation has been working with awarding organisations to put arrangements in place for the award of ESQs using a calculated approach.
This will be based on centre assessed grades based mainly on evidence up to the closure of schools, colleges and training centres on the introduction of social distancing measures, and the application of statistical awarding tools. Awarding organisations will be contacting centres over the coming days to gather centre assessed grades and work to award ESQs for learners affected during summer awarding.
