The CCEA Entry Level Learning for Life and Work specification gives learners opportunities to investigate cultural diversity, equality, rights, responsibilities and the world of work, including employment and entrepreneurship skills.
This qualification builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills developed through the Learning for Life and Work Area of Learning.
Entry Level qualifications help learners to expand their knowledge, increase their confidence and demonstrate achievement. This includes some who might not be ready for a course at GCSE level or equivalent.

The CCEA GCSE Gaeilge specification enhances students’ positive attitude towards the Irish language, culture and literature and helps them become effective and accurate users of Irish.
It builds on the range of Irish language skills that students acquire in Irish-medium education. It also helps students prepare for AS level Irish, as it has more literature content than the other GCSE languages specifications. This gives students opportunities to improve their skills in analysis, collating, comparison and cross-referencing.

The specification helps students to understand the connections between local, national and global issues. They develop confidence in thinking independently by critically challenging accepted views and assumptions. They also make informed decisions and take appropriate action.
