The CCEA GCSE Contemporary Crafts specification is about making things. Students explore the properties and characteristics of materials, techniques and processes, combining creative ideas and manual dexterity to create unique objects.
Students can explore and create from a wide range of materials, including ceramics, glass, metal, found and recycled materials, resins, textiles, and wood.
This qualification builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills developed through the Area of Learning The Arts.

Students reason, interpret and discuss results and use data to calculate estimates of probability. They develop understanding of how technology enables us to collect, visualise and analyse large quantities of data to inform decision-making in public, commercial, charitable and academic sectors.
