CCEA has today published the guidance and process for schools and colleges on how the alternative awarding arrangements for Summer 2021 CCEA qualifications will operate following the cancellation of this year’s exams by the Minister of Education, Peter Weir MLA.

CCEA has today issued a revised version of its Summer 2021 Alternative Arrangements guidance to schools and colleges.

Today, Monday 7 June, CCEA has published a Student and Parent Guide on its Post-Results Service for all CCEA qualifications, setting out how students can engage with this service.

Nearly 7000 examiners and moderators assessed over 620,000 pieces of work for CCEA this Summer!

Today CCEA received instructions from the Department of Education, outlining the Minister’s decisions in relation to the delivery of GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications for the academic year 2020/21. CCEA will now implement the arrangements required to ensure that learners in Northern Ireland have the opportunity to achieve their GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications.

As Northern Ireland students eagerly await their A level and GCSE results this week and next, over 7000 examiners and moderators have been hard at work assessing exam papers and coursework to enable students to progress to the next stage of their journey.

Today (November 22, 2021) marks the first day of the November examination series for some 27,149 students in Northern Ireland. CCEA would like to thank teachers and parents for their hard work and commitment in preparing students for these exams. We would also like to acknowledge the role examiners will play in the coming weeks.

The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) has set up a dedicated results helpline to offer advice and guidance for students receiving their summer 2024 examination results including: GCE, GCSE, Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE), Occupational Studies, Online Language Assessment (OLA) and Vocational Qualifications.

This week saw the release of the remaining pre-recorded GCSE and GCE webinars, as part of CCEA’s wider support programme for the summer 2021 alternative arrangements. The webinars, alongside the subject support guidance, are available to view at the dedicated Summer 2021 page.

As of today, all 30 GCE teacher support guidance documents for Summer 2021 alternative awarding arrangements are now available to view online. This follows the release of CCEA’s Summer 2021: Alternative Arrangements – Process for Heads of Centre earlier this month.
