100 Greats 1921-2021
Auld Lammas Fair
The Auld Lammas Fair takes place in Ballycastle, Co Antrim on the last Monday and Tuesday in August every year. The first fair was held over 300 years ago making it one of the oldest fairs in Ireland.
A variety of goods are sold from approximately 400 stalls. There is live music, livestock sales and the traditional Lammas treats of Yellow Man, (a sticky honeycomb toffee) and Dulse (a dried reddish seaweed).
Normally thousands flock to Ballycastle each year but this year, 2021, the Fair is likely to be cancelled for the second time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
