Belfast Pride

Belfast Pride is one of the biggest festivals in Belfast. It is Ireland’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) festival and ranks in the top ten largest Pride parades in the UK. Belfast Pride is both a protest and a celebration – a stand for equal rights and a proud and inclusive celebration of LGBTQ+ lives. Pride has the power to bring people together, it encourages us to work together for equality, to celebrate our lives, our families, our diverse identities and stand up for each other in a positive statement that is bigger than the sum of its many parts.

Belfast Pride celebrates the diversity of Belfast and each year runs a diverse programme of events to fully represent the whole community.

The first Belfast Pride festival took place in 1991 and inspired people to continue to work for a future without discrimination and where everyone has equal rights. It is now a ten-day festival with over 130 events that showcase the creativity, arts, history, culture, opinions and everyday lives of the LGBT community in Belfast.
