Eddie Irvine
Eddie Irvine was born in 1965 in Newtownards. He is a former Formula 1 racing driver. He made his Formula 1 debut in 1993 with the Jordan team. He scored his first win in 1995 with Jordan, before moving to Ferrari in 1996. His most successful season was in 1999 when he took four victories with Ferrari. In his four years with Ferrari he also finished fourth overall in 1998 and scored 22 overall wins. He remains the latest driver from the United Kingdom to have represented Ferrari. He moved to Jaguar Racing in 2000, scoring the team's first win in 2001 and his final win in 2002. He retired at the end of the 2002 season.
