Titanic Centre
The Titanic Centre, Belfast opened in 2012 and is built in the city’s Titanic Quarter on the site of the former Harland and Wolff shipyard. It was opened in 2012 and tells the stories of the famous Titanic ship which hit an iceberg and sank during her maiden voyage in 1912. It is a famous tourist attraction and has had more than four million visitors since it opened. It became the world’s leading tourist attraction in 2016.
It has boosted the Northern Ireland economy and sustained hundreds of jobs each year in the wider community.
The building is an interesting shape and made up of three thousand silver aluminium sheets folded into complicated asymmetrical shapes.
