Ulster Museum

The Ulster Museum was opened in 1929. It was originally called the Belfast Municipal Museum and Art Gallery. In 1962 it was renamed the Ulster Museum. It has galleries covering the history of Northern Ireland from the earliest times to the very recent past. You can find collections of art and historic and contemporary fashion and textiles. It also holds exhibitions. You can also find dinosaurs and an Egyptian mummy called Takabuti. It is the home of Northern Ireland’s treasures – past and present.
