Ulster Rugby

Ulster Rugby is one of the four professional provincial rugby teams from Ireland. It comprises the six counties of Northern Ireland and three in the Republic of Ireland. Ulster competes in the PRO14 and the Heineken Champions Cup. Ulster turned professional in 1995 and in 1999 won the Heineken Cup beating Colomiers of France 21–6 at Lansdowne Road in Dublin. From 2001–04, Ulster continued its successes with a three-year unbeaten home record in the Heineken Cup. They won the Celtic Cup in 2003 and the Celtic League in 2006. Well-known Ulster players from Northern Ireland are Rory Best, David Humphreys, Andrew Trimble, Jacob Stockdale and Iain Henderson.
