The 100 Greats 1921-2021 is an illustrated timeline celebrating Northern Ireland’s 100 Greats over the last 100 years: people, places, and our diverse society. The target audience is Key Stage 2, although it may also be of interest to Key Stage 3.
About The Timeline
CCEA has produced an illustrated timeline celebrating Northern Ireland’s 100 greats over the last 100 years: people, places, and our diverse society, 1921–2021. The timeline aims to facilitate the broadest possible understanding of what makes Northern Ireland great and memorable. The target audience is Key Stage 2 although it may also be of interest to early Key Stage 3.
You can explore the timeline by topic: Cultural Diversity, Festivals, Food and Drink, Geography, History, Literature, Medicine, Politics or the Peace Process, Science/STEM/Invention, Sport and The Arts.
Each search generates a synopsis of the item, the relevant decade and links to the Northern Ireland Curriculum and relevant websites. A range of follow-up tasks and questions are provided to encourage further investigation and skills development. The timeline can be used in conjunction with the suite of 6 lessons, which are fully aligned with the NI Curriculum.
Links to CCEA Thematic Units
